Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge #663

Good Morning!   Today's card is part of Try a Sketch on Tuesday's bi-weekly sketch.  To join in on the fun, please click the link here:   TSOT-#663 I began making this card using Penny Black's So Much Love Stamp Set.  I used two pieces of pre cut coordinating card stock that had a water color/ alcohol ink design in shades of pink and purples.   The first panel with a more white space was used as the background and the second piece was used to cut 4- 1/2 x 4 inch strips in the same coordinating colors.  I rotated some of the colors around in a different order and orientation to give a varied appearance.   Next I stamped the image onto the remaining piece of coordinating cardstock.  This particular piece of paper had a slick surface to it, when I stamped in Versa Fine ink, I heat embossed with clear powder to set the ink and prevent any smearing.   The heart balloons were fussy cut and set aside.   Next, I ad...

C.R.A.F.T Challenge #748 "LOVE"

Hello!  Today's card is a monochromatic style for the C.R.A.F.T challenge for the theme of "LOVE"/ Anything goes.  To join in on the fun, please click the link here:  (C.R.A.F.T #748) This card is "LOVE" themed.  It's a very simple sentiment that can be incorporated to say "I love you", or sending love, or even thank you/love you.   I began by using a heart embossing folder on a pale piece of card stock.  I used (SU) Cherry Cobbler ink and sponged a light application over the raised hearts to add extra depth and dimension to the background.   Next, I assembled the bicycle from Honey Bee Crafts.  This is the Bicycle Builder from Honey Cuts.  I used Cherry Cobbler cardstock, Basic Black and Silver foil cardstock to assemble the bike together.   The Bicycle was assembled and glued with a fine tip glue pen onto the card base.  Small red tassles were added to the handle bars to look like streamers.  ( I was happ...

Hello Friends!  I'm in the full swing of making Valentine's Day cards.  Although I typically shy away from heart designs, I have been really enjoying finding all the cute images in my stash that can be used a variety of ways.   I'm focusing this month on two ideas or challenges for the month of February.  First, I will be focusing on this card layout design from Tawny Owl Paperie.  I sometimes start a lot of creative thinking after the first card I make, so I want to continue to pull stamps and papers and really try to maximize card making. The second theme I'll be working on is monochromatic color palettes.  Today’s palette is different shades of pinks and reds.   Today's card incorporates both a monochromatic color scheme and this great card sketch provide from Tawny Owl Paperie.     The original card design from Tawny Owl Paperie had the sentiment directly under the image.  My image was not linear, so I chose to add a slim strip ...
