TOP Inky Inspiration Sketch #41

Hello! Tawnie Owl Paperie has a great challenge for the month of April using repeated circles.   My card is an A2 horizontal top folding card.  I dug through some of my printed tags and ephemera, and found a printed postcard to use as the background.  One great resources is the Graphics Fairy.  They have so many printables that you can use for your craft needs!  You can visit them  (HERE) I cut the circles from 3 different print tags  (a grid, collage print, and the center was a damask print) and adhered them to the center of the postcard base. The butterfly die cut is from Stampin up called - Butterfly Thinlit dies, and the card color is Misty Moonlight (SU).  I stacked 3- for extra dimension. For the sentiment, I used “Thinking of you” from A-muse stamps Sampler Set 2.  The sentiment was stamped on a left over post card scrap in Misti Moonlight ink (SU) For embellishments, I added Tim Holtz Idea-ology I REALLY like this sketch! (Thank...

Pasta Pals - Birthday Card

Hello! I’m switching gears today and sharing a Birthday card for my son’s birthday next week!  I used the current sketch #38 for Tawnie Owl Paperie’s Inky InspirationChallenge as the starting point for the card.  I started with the Die set from Spellbinders called Pasta Pals.  There are different pasta shapes, and elements that you can build a scene with.  There is also punny sentiments, and a coordinating embossing folder.   (Shop here) I chose Poppy Red, Gumball Green, and Basic Black as the main card colors (SU), and two pieces of yellow scrap in a light and medium yellow shade.   Assembly: The card panel was embossed and set aside.  The ravioli was assembled with the cheeks and mouth in laid in place.  The cheese wedge was assembled with a green bow tie and 1- extra wedge piece was added for dimension.   Details such as the eyes, basil leaves and bow tie were colored with fine tip markers. I realized I ended up reversing the stripe ...

Same stamp set different layoyts

Hello! I think this weird mid-west heat wave is behind us!  It’s actually feeling like Fall.   With the season changing, I was in the mood for rich colors.  I made two different cards using Stampin Up: Beauty of Tomorrow set.   The colors for these cards are Stampin up Merry Merlot, and Delightful Dijon, and Recollections Gold Foil. The first card design is the current sketch at Tawnie Owl Paperie Group on Facebook.   This sketch is designed to use up those scraps!   I began this card by cutting the card base into a side folding card, measuring 4 1/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches.  (Merry Merlot) The card mat - was cut to 4 x 5 1/4 (Delightful Dijon).  I cut the leaf die from mirrored gold cardstock, and glued into place.  I had a rectangular cutting die very close to the sketch dimensions and liked the border detail, so I die cut in the contrasting Merry Merlot color.   I left over pieces of scrap book paper with a handwritten design on ...

Sea Gull Party!

Greetings!  This card was created for two challenges.  I used the layout from Tawnie Owl Paprie Sketch Challenge #35, and the color theme is for Color Dare Challenge #668. Using these two starting ideas, I thought of something to fill the sketch on the left hand side.  I found a scrap with a yellow and white print that had a pattern but didn’t compete with the other elements on the card.   Next, I began building the Geometric Squares from Simon Says Stamp.  They remind me of nautical sail flags, and I used patterns of either red or white or red and black.  The sea gull, is from Stampin Up - Friendly Seagulls.  It was stamped in Versafine black ink,  colored with marker, and fussy cut.   The sea gull is standing on the sentiment “Let’s get this party started” From Simon Says Stamp - Simon’s Big Birthday.  The card base was trimmed with Poppy Red- from Stampin Up.  This card is a side folding card measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches....
