Joy and Peace - CAS on Friday #337

Greetings!  Today’s card is inspired from CAS on Friday with the theme of Christmas.  You can play along,  (HERE) I used an older sketch from Freshly Made Sketches as the card layout. For my card, I used a left over strip from Stampin Up’s - Oh Night Divine DSP.   I then die cut three mangers from Night of Navy cardstock and glued them together.  The sentiment is from SU-Night Divine, stamped in Night of Navy ink.  The small circle is from Stampin Up’s - Nature’s Spotlight Die set.  I used a piece of holographic cardstock. (Recollections- Michael’s) The manger comes from Paper Trey Ink October Reflections, and I use it every year!  Here is the complete set: (SHOP HERE) Here’s another version of a card I made using this set Link  (HERE) Thanks for stopping by! - Valerie Kaye

Peace Love & Joy - CAS Colours and Sketches #581

Hello!  Today’s card is inspired from this week’s sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches #581. To Play along, click the link  (HERE) My card is an A2 side folding card.   Following the sketch, I trimmed a panel and used a nesting circle to partially die cut the edge. I stamped the ornament from Stampin Up’s - Christmas Gleaming set with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.   I colored with water-based markers with bold, bright colors, and added a small rhinestone to the center and a small red bow to the top. The ornament was cut with the coordinating punch.  The sentiment from Stampin Up’s - Peace on Earth stamp, was stamped along the die cut panel using a stamp platform and Versa Fine Onyx Black ink. I liked the clean, bold font and it fit nicely along the bottom.   Thanks for stopping by! - Valerie Kaye

CAS on Friday #329

Hello!  Today’s card is inspired from CAS on Friday #329.  To join along, click  (HERE) For my card, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to allow the circle and stripes to the top of the card.  For the strips, I used a scrap of white card stock to anchor and position into place.  I used Simon Says Stamp Strips 1 - cutting dies.   I cut one wider strip with white shimmer card stock (Recollections) and one thinner strip of holographic card stock (Recollections) and glued them together on the scrap cardstock.   I added the Line It Up - Christmas die from Paper Trey Ink on the other side.   The border was added to a card base measuring 3 3/4 x 5 inches.  A vellum circle with a holographic snowflake was cut from Nature’s Spotlight from Stampin Up.  A small snowflake was die cut from the same white shimmer cardstock stock, and an opal accent was added to the center. The panel was finished with a holographic border.   Thanks for stopping...

Christmas Swag

Good Morning! Today’s card is more of a Fresh and Clean design.  The embossing folder is so pretty I never feel the need to add more to it.  ðŸ’• This card is for Can You Handle the Pressure?    (LINK HERE) Peace on Earth #104 (LINK HERE) Assembly: This card measures 5 x 7 inches.  I sometimes trim the paper down and adjust where I want to show the embosding, but today I just wanted to show off the full beauty of this evergreen swag.   The embossing folder is is from Spellbinders,  aptly called Floral Holiday Swag.   (SHOP HERE) The pretty oblong cutting die was gifted from my Mom.  I initially watched a Penny Black video showing an embossed card, layered with a frame and a floral tucked in, but I didn’t seem to have the right floral piece.  I guess I’ll just have to go shopping…😆 So, I just decided to simplify my card a bit.  I grabbed an older stamp set from Stampin Up called “Ornamental Pine.” The set has a pine branch, hook...

CAS on Friday #325 - Snowman

Hi there! Happy Friday! We made it!  lol.  Today I made a bright and cheery snowman for CAS on Friday’s “Snowman” challenge.  You can follow the link to play along  (HERE) I was initially thinking of doing a loose watercolor, but then changed my mind and dug through some scraps.  I thought these stripes would be great on the scarf.   Assembly: This is an A2 side folding card (4 1/4 x 5 1/2 in.) I cut a cut a panel of multi media paper to 4 x 5 1/4 inches.   Using a stamp platform, I positioned Unity’s Sending Christmas Smiles Stamp (SHOP HERE)   on the striped paper, then with detail scissors cut out.   I followed the same process with the gray hat, and orange carrot.   Two half round beads were added as buttons, and the card panel was mounted onto Orchid Oasis (SU) card stock.   This stamp definitely will bring smiles!  Thanks for stopping by! - Valerie Kaye

AAA Cards Challenge #305

Hello! I just finished up a card for a fun challenge at AAA Cards blogspot ( AAA Cards Callenge #305 ) The theme for this challenge is to make a Clean and Simple card using white on white.   What is challenging, is making a card that is white without being overly busy.  I wanted texture and needed a focal point, so I started looking through some of my dies to see what might work.  The photo doesn’t show the glitter very well, so here is a quick video to get a better look: I decided on an older stamp set from Stampin Up called Smitten Mitten.   I also used a My Favorite Things die - called Square Peek a Boo Window Die.   I liked how a single mitten was framed inside.   Card Base: To make this card, I cut my card panel into a side folding card measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.  I cut a piece of white pearlescent paper (Recollections- Michael’s).   Using washi tape, I laid the pearlescent paper on top of the card panel, and added a couple pi...

Addicted to CAS #297

Hello!  Today’s card is inspired from the current challenge at Addicted to Clean and Simple Blogspot.  You can find the challenge link here:  Addicted to CAS #297 I started with the small tree dies from the Concord and 9th Tiny Trees Turnabout set.  These are such a great size, that I reach for these often!  (Shop Here) Using a piece of washi tape I positioned the center and the right tree to cut the 4 x 5 1/4 panel.  I then positioned the left tree and passed it through the Big shot one more time.   A small piece from Stampin Up’s 6 x 6 Silver and Gold Specialty Design Paper was adhered to the back.   The tree bases were cut from silver metallic cardstock, and the stars were cut from gold metallic card stock, both Recollections Brand from Michael’s.  A few ornaments were added with gold liquid pearls.   The script sentiment was positioned on a stamp platform and stamped in Versa fine Onyx Black Ink.  The sentiment comes from ...
