“You Are Loved” - Unity Stamps

Good Morning!  I just finished up this adorable raccoon to send to Cards to Hospitalized Kids.  This is a great way if you enjoy making cards, you can send them out to brighten someone’s day!  You can learn how you can help here:  (Cards For Hospitlized Kids Link)  It’s part of two challenges:  ( Word Art Wednesday  #734  - Anything Goes), and ( Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge  (Something new).   Sometimes as I gather ideas for cards, I veer off in other directions.  This was the case making this card.  As I was percolating on ideas, I came across an older sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, and I had the light bulb moment of the stamps and papers to make a card.  (I had a few heart printed thank you sheets from Unity, plus a few of my own scraps)   Here’s the sketch: Details: I had the negative scrap piece with the heart shaped hole from a card I made yesterday, and decided it would make a cute window for t...

Shaped Cards

Hello!  I came across a really unique way of building a scene, using an arched trifold design.  If you have pretty papers that work together to create a scene, you can really showcase them in a panoramic style fold. This beautiful scenic paper is called One Horse Open Sleigh (SU).  I really wanted a winter scene and found three pieces of paper that were all very similar in color.   I paired the paper with Unity’s  new to me- “…a Beauty All Its Own.” (Shop Here)  This sweet stamp can be used for Fall or Winter, by simply making a few changes to the color of the coat, or adding leaves or snowflakes.  I stamped the little girl in a dark brown ink (Early Espresso-SU), and loosely colored with markers.   To make this card, I used 6 - large arch cutting dies, and 3 - of the second largest to cut the patterned paper.  2 - connecting pieces were cut 3 x 2 inches and scored at 1 inch.  (SU-Poppy Parade card stock) This was the video I watch...

Coffee Pocket Cards

Hello!  I finished up a couple of cards today.  One will be sent as a long distance hug to a friend, and the other will be tucked away for another occasion.  Aren’t these cute?  I have been wanting to make a coffee themed card since last week, but stalled out on ideas.  So, my coffee elements sat waiting until today.   I was gifted a couple of these coffee cut outs from Unity stamps.   Unity-Coffee to Go Ephamera I loved the florals on the cup and today it clicked that I had some small floral paper also from Unity that would work well with it, called  Wallpaper and Warmth  .   To make this card, I began with a side folding card base measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I cut a the frame from Paper Trey Ink called Stitched frame die, and set it off to the side.   I fussy cut the coffee cup out with detail scissors and added a coffee label from Stampin Up’s Warm Hugs stamp and die set.  The ink used is Misty Moonlight, and matche...
