TOP Inky Inspiration Sketch #41

Hello! Tawnie Owl Paperie has a great challenge for the month of April using repeated circles.   My card is an A2 horizontal top folding card.  I dug through some of my printed tags and ephemera, and found a printed postcard to use as the background.  One great resources is the Graphics Fairy.  They have so many printables that you can use for your craft needs!  You can visit them  (HERE) I cut the circles from 3 different print tags  (a grid, collage print, and the center was a damask print) and adhered them to the center of the postcard base. The butterfly die cut is from Stampin up called - Butterfly Thinlit dies, and the card color is Misty Moonlight (SU).  I stacked 3- for extra dimension. For the sentiment, I used “Thinking of you” from A-muse stamps Sampler Set 2.  The sentiment was stamped on a left over post card scrap in Misti Moonlight ink (SU) For embellishments, I added Tim Holtz Idea-ology I REALLY like this sketch! (Thank...

SCS Teapot Challenge

Hi there! Today’s card is inspired from the current Tuesday Teapot Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers ( MMTPT899).    Every Tuesday, a new teapot is posted to get those creative juices flowing.    Teapot Tuesday Challenge Link I loved The neutral colors of the small teapot on the right.  The simple lines on the leaves sparked my creativity into this card.   This card is a side folding card, measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.  I really liked the neutral colors of the teapot, so I chose kraft cardstock (Recollections).   The stamp used is from Unity’s Kit Of The Month : May 2022 One Friend.  Shop here :  Unity One Friend KOM The lines of the leaves really drew me in.  I chose the slightly larger image, so I could add color to the leaves with pencils.   I stamped the image on a platform with a piece of kraft cardstock measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I used Tip Top Taupe from Stampin Up, for a tone on tone color. Then I used three ...

Thinking of you

Double D Challenge  Hello! Today’s card was inspired by two challenges.  Double D - has a mood board featuring colorful butterflies, and Freshly Made Sketches helped me with the layout.  Links are down below. I started with cutting a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 panel from a Cansom Multi Media paper pad.  Using a stamp positioner, I mounted (SU-Swallotail) stamp in Blueberry Bushel (SU) ink.  Next, I took an aquapen and loosely added water over the image, and took a paper towel to lift some of the color away.  I continued to add water droplets until I was happy with the look, and added a few spatters of ink to the background. The sentiment comes from Stampin Up’s Hope You Know Stamp set.  I stamped on Daffodil Delight (SU), Pumpkin Pie (SU), and Poppy Parade (SU) in Versafine ink. The top sentiment was cut with a die from SU- field tile die set and the other sentiments were trimmed down into and adhered over the butterfly.   The card was finished with some distr...

Thinking of You - Paper Crew Craft Challenge Vertical Card Layout

Good Morning!    I have never tried a design like this but loved the small focal point at the top of the card.  For this design, I think the small detail at the top adds just enough embellishment to an otherwise simple card.  The challenge has ended, but was inspired to play with this design on my own.   What is great about this card layout is the center image is showcased so nicely.  I was gifted a pack of Stampin Up's - All About Autumn 6 x 6 Specialty Designer Series Paper, from my mother.  Beautiful photographic papers with images of trees, pumpkins, books and fabrics to choose from.    Aren't these gorgeous?  I love them all!  In this card layout, I could choose an area that I really wanted to showcase.  This card is a top folding style, measuring 4 1/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches.  The center image is matted with a dark brown piece of cardstock and gold mirrored foil for the last frame.  For contrast, I ch...
