Fa, la, la…

Hi there!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I just received a surprise from my Sister in Law in the mail yesterday.   Wanna guess what it was? 🤩 (SHOP HERE) I was so excited, I had to play around with my new stamp set.   Today’s card was created from this week’s sketch from Atlantic Hearts, Sketch 702. To play along, click the link ( HERE ) For my card, I used an older piece of Concord and 9th Specialty Holiday Paper.   I trimmed the base to 4 x 5 1/4in. Next, I stamped the Snoopy and Woodstock image and colored with a combination of Tombow classic colors, and Stampin Up’s Coastal Cabana for the background, and Daffodil Delight for the birds. Wink of Stella was added to the snow and trim on Snoopy’s hat. The image was cut from Simon Says Stamp A2 Frames.  I cut  3 additional frame outlines in Poppy Parade cardstock (SU). A vellum scrap circle was added to the corner and the die cut sentiment was added from Concord and 9th’s Winter Wonderland Die...

Holly Jolly Christmas - AHS#686

Hello!  Today’s card is inspired from Atlantic Hearts Sketch #686 this week, with the sentiment taking center stage in the card front.  To play along, click the link  (HERE) I used this fun die from - A Pocket Full of Sunshine and cut the letters from Poppy Parade card stock  (SU). I used the negative piece of card-stock as a template for alignment and spacing. The back ground was made from a snow cover plate die from Gina Marie Designs (wholesalecrafting supplies.com). I cut a second background with silver cardstock, and used the snow pieces to inlay against the white.  I have lots of dots and letters in my table at the moment…😆 I tried to find a stamp that could be placed on or around the prominent sentiment, and this snowman from SSS - called Wrapped in scarves was the perfect fit. He was colored with markers and embellished with a Wink of Stella pen. I added an action wobbler for movement and dimension.  Thanks for stopping by! - Valerie Kaye

Oink Oink Hooray! 🐷

The pig is from Unity stamps called - Just Pig-cause.  I stamped in Versafine Onyx black ink, then used a combination of watercolor and prismacolor pencils to shade. The heart dies are from Alex Syberia designs - called Endless Hearts.  I absolutely love this elongated shape!  The snout was embellished with Wink of Stella. Thanks for stopping by! - Valerie Kaye

A Life That Touches Others - Atlantic Hearts Sketch #681

Hello!  Inside I have been loving all things vintage lately!  Today’s card is inspired from this week’s sketch from Atlantic Hearts this week. To play along, click the link  (HERE) This great design works so well with small images, and I grabbed a couple of my Itty Bitty stamps from Unity. I grabbed some ephemera thank you gifts, and paired it with Unity’s Life Touches - By Lisa Arana. I cut out the printed piece, and also cut a red banner as well.   Since there was labels in the background, I used a square postage cutting die to frame the flower image. The flower was stamped in Ranger - Archival Ink in Watering can. For the striped background, I found some lace print scrapbook paper, and turned it vertically.   I also made a second card, because I was having so much fun with this layout: Card #2 I used the same printed ephemera paired with Unity’s Itty Bitty stamp called Seeds Within. I stamped in Early Espresso Ink (SU). I partially die cut the flowers, so the...

You’re The Best - Atlantic Hearts #678

Hi Friends!  Today’s card is inspired from the new sketch up at Atlantic Hearts this week.  To join in on the fun, click the link  (HERE) I took the sketch and rotated it to a vertical position.  I trimmed up a piece of SU DSP to 3 3/4 x 5 inches for the card base.  To build my card, I chose the Unbounded Love  cutting dies from Stampin Up.  I fiddled with cutting the three panels, and decided to find a die before I hack up all of my paper.  🤣  The center panel I used Rich Razzelberry cardstock, and heat embossed in Copper Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from Label me Grateful (SU) - and I thought this is perfect as a masculine birthday or Father’s Day.  😉 I added thin trim strips to my panel in Rich Razzelberry.  The dies are from Simon Says Stamp, and make perfectly straight edges.  (Once I find the name, I’ll add it!) Aspen leaves (SU)  were cut from Tim Holtz Rose Gold Metallic cardstock, and a few coo...

Hello!  Today I created card for Atlantic Hearts for sketch #675.  If you’d like to join in on the fun, click the link  (HERE) I kept things pretty simple, but used bright colors and high contrast for my design.  This is an A2 side folding card.   I embossed a white piece of Hammermill #110 white cardstock with the Cuttlebug - Twill Stripe embossing folder.  I adhered to the card base and trimmed off the overhanging edges.  For the heart, I cut several 1/4 inch strips of bright colors and used a glue stick on a scrap to lay down the strips.   The heart is the negative piece from Honey Bee - Radiant Heart Dies.   For the sentiment, I used the Hugs word from Unity with Tim Holtz Glossy Black Cardstock. Thanks for stopping by! - Valerie Kaye

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #672

Hello!  This card was created from Atlantic Hearts Sketch #672. Atlantic Hearts Sketch #667

Hello! Today’s card is inspired from the current sketch from Atlantic Hearts - #667.  You can play along,  (HERE) I Think I’m in vacation mode.  I keep thinking of this great vacation spot we visit in the summer in Door County, Wisconsin.  It has the feel of being out on the East coast.   Sailboats, seagulls, rock skipping and hitting our favorite place for a fabulous root beer float. If you ever get out that way, stop by Wilson’s for Ice Cream — But I digress…😆 Using this sketch, and a few left over elements, I was able to make a masculine birthday card.   This is a A2 horizontal card (5 1/2 x 4 1/4 in.) I chose a darker color of patterned paper for contrast against the softer blue of the card base and white center panel.   The center panel was die cut and matted with the Sea side spray to create solid stripes.   The sentiment was positioned along a strip and stamped in Night of Navy ink (SU), and adhered over the last opening.   The ...

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #663 - Card 2

Hello!  I created a second card for the Atlantic Hearts sketch #663. If you would like to play along, (Click Here)   As I was looking through stamps for ideas, I went through several Unity Kit of the Month sets given from my Mom.  Both this sunflower and the sentiment came from the March 2022 (Never Lose Hope)  (Shop Here)   I really liked the size of this sunflower and was envisioning it in the right corner to go along with the sketch.  To do this, I decided to stamp in Early Espresso Ink (SU) on a soft yellow cardstock, and then colored with markers.  I found two left over scraps that worked nicely together, and added them in place.  The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso Ink (SU), and layered in the center.   I thought the sentiment would work nicely for a future graduation coming up this spring.  It’s always nice to have cards ready for any occasion!   Have a great week! - Valerie Kaye

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #663

Greetings!  Atlantic Hearts has a great sketch out this week, and it was the perfect starting point to make a fun birthday card.  Join along here:  Atlantic Hearts Sketch #683 For this card, I used Unity’s Starting a Plague  (Shop Here) , and Thinkin’ Out Loud  (Shop Here) .  I was gifted these from Christmas, and it’s just the dry humor I needed to make a birthday card for a teenager!   I found a sheet of scrapbook paper with a lime green grid print, which was a nice background for the card.  I added a solid scrap of lime green and blue (Starry Sky - SU)  to border the grasshopper.  I used the speech bubble and twine in place of the flower.  I flipped it to the other side to accommodate the size better.   Thanks for stopping by! - Valerie Kaye

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #654

Since the image had most of the elements I needed, I positioned using a stamp platform and stamped in Basic Grey Ink (SU).  The extra snowflakes were added to the lower left corner.  In the center, I used a contrasting color tag.  Although I had red, I thought it was too harsh.  I chose pink instead.  The sentiment was stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink (SU). A few snowflakes were die cut from holographic cardstock from Recollections (Shop Here) , and iridescent gems were added for embellishment.  Thanks for stopping by! - Valerie Kaye

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #650

Hi there!  Today’s card was inspired by Atlantic Hearts Blog Sketch #650 I wanted to do something a little different for the diamond focal point.  I had the Feels Like Frost DSP from Stampin up on my table and came across a video featuring a fun fold with a diamond belly band.   I really liked the diamond focal point, and this particular design you can make with or without the belly band.   Enjoy the video here:  Double Z fold Card Using the dimensions from the video, I used approximately 2 sheets of the scenic Feels Like Frost DSP paper(SU), 1 - sheet of a coordinating print, and one sheet of card-stock to create your card base, belly band and center diamond. I decided on something simple for the center and used the new Winter Scenes stamp set from Stampin Up.  I heat embossed in silver Embossing Powder, and adhered to the belly band.  The Sentiment came from Concord and 9th/Kristina Werner Holiday Assortment Set.  The simple font and small...
