Flower Pot Card

Hello!  I created a card today that uses embossing for the texture on the flower pot.    This card is for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - “Emboss It” Join the challenge  (HERE) I saw a card on the Facebook Cardmaking group by Beth Stelzer, who created a card from Sam Calcott’s  Mixed Up Crafts video.   You can find Sam’s video  (HERE) I was really wowed by the unique shape and dimension of this card and had to give it a try.   For My card, I used Altenew’s Peony Bouquet Set.  I found that die cutting the pieces first, and then using the negative space to align the stamps on a clear block was so helpful.   When I had my slider piece finished, I traced the outline onto a piece of lightweight card stock, to create a backing.   A few iridescent gems and a cream bow were added for embellishment.   Supplies Used: Stamps: Altenew - Peony Bouquet Set “Hello” sentiment - Stampin Up- Garden Meadow, Rectangle Die - Unbounded...

All Good Things - Festive Friday Challenge

Hello!  I finished up a card today for the current challenge at the Festive Friday Blog.  If you’d like to play along, please click on the link here:  (#FF0200) For the challenge, I chose yellow, tulips, dry embossing, and Happy Birthday  Assembly: To make this card I used Unity’s “All Good Things” stamp set.   I began with lightweight multimedia paper cut to 4 x 5 1/4 in. I stamped in Ranger Sepia Archival ink, and loosely watercolored from ink pads (Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green (SU) Next, I partially embossed with Stampin Up’s Scripty embosding folder.  The embossing and edges were blended with Gumball Green ink (SU). The sentiment came from Stampin Up’s  “Go to Greetings.” The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso Ink (SU) and die cut.   The card was embellished with twine (thanks Unity!) and mounted onto a card base measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (Gumball Green card stock SU).  Have a great week! - Valerie Kaye

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #663 - Card 2

Hello!  I created a second card for the Atlantic Hearts sketch #663. If you would like to play along, (Click Here)   As I was looking through stamps for ideas, I went through several Unity Kit of the Month sets given from my Mom.  Both this sunflower and the sentiment came from the March 2022 (Never Lose Hope)  (Shop Here)   I really liked the size of this sunflower and was envisioning it in the right corner to go along with the sketch.  To do this, I decided to stamp in Early Espresso Ink (SU) on a soft yellow cardstock, and then colored with markers.  I found two left over scraps that worked nicely together, and added them in place.  The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso Ink (SU), and layered in the center.   I thought the sentiment would work nicely for a future graduation coming up this spring.  It’s always nice to have cards ready for any occasion!   Have a great week! - Valerie Kaye
