Blooming Birthday

Hello!   My hands are still a little inky, but my heart is full!  I just finished a card trying a new (to me) technique.  Inking the de-bossed side of a panel.   This card is for the Beautiful Blossoms blog challenge #34 running until November 12th.  Join in on the fun here:  Beautiful Blosdoms Challenge #34 This card is inspired from this mood board:  This card is a side folding card measuring 5 x 7 inches.  To begin this card, I embossed a 120# white cardstock with Altenew Lush Garden 3D embossing folder.  ( Shop Her e) After the panel was embossed, I turned the panel to the de-bossed side.  I took the stencils and turned them to the back side and began sponging in colors,   Now for the scary part!  I took a Versa Fine Onyx Black ink pad and started taking the ink pad directly to the paper.   The panel was trimmed down and matted with Daffodil Delight cardstock and Starry Sky? from Stampin Up.   A few iridesce...

Just Add Ink #770

Greetings!  Tonight’s card is inspired from Just Add Ink’s  Challenge #770 .   This is a side folding card measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I tried to find 3 shades as close as possible to the challenge and used Pink Pirouette, Pale Plum, and Perfect Plum ink from Stampin Up.   I embossed with Stampin Up’s Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder.  I used a brayer to apply the pink, then blended the light and medium shades of purple with sponges.   I decided to add the large sentiment (SU- Night Divine) to the center, and trimmed with a basic black border.   I trimmed the embossed panel down and added a Pale Plum border behind it.   Three iridescent gems were added to the corner for a small embellishment.   Thanks for stopping by! - Valerie Kaye

Freshly Made Sketches #705

Good Morning,  Today’s card is inspired by the new sketch challenge at  Freshly Made Sketches #705 .  When I saw this sketch I was instantly in the mood to make something with leaves and fall colors!   I started with making a top folding card base in kraft cardstock (Recollections).  Next I cut a kraft panel, and embossed with Stampin Up’s Timeworn Type  embossing folder.   I swiped across the embossed piece with Ink 3-Juicy clear ink, then heat embossed with copper embossing powder.   The strips came from Stampin Up’s All About Autumn 6 x 6 paper pack.  Beautiful papers.  Foiled and gorgeous photographic fall scenes!   I trimmed three coordinating strips down and framed with mirrored gold card-stock (Recollections). I cut three leaves from mirrored gold cardstock and staggered them along the strips.   The sentiment from Stampin Up’s Hope You Know set was stamped in Pretty Peacock Ink (My favorite color!) and center ed be...
