Be Mildly Fabulous! 😆

Hi !  I hope you are all feeling “Mildly Fabulous” today! 😂 We’re almost to the week, and this chick stamp came in my Easter bag from my Mom.  This fun set is called - Just a Couple of Spring Chickens from Unity stamps.  Guaranteed to get a laugh from any girlfriend! I created this card by cutting a frame from Hammermill white 110# cardstock, and stamping directly on the frame using a stamp platform, with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.  (Pink Fresh Studios Rectangular Nested Frame - Diagonal Stitch) I used a combination of markers and pencils to color my chickie. To make her even more fabulous, I added Wink of Stella to her feathers. I used the green and red and white polka dotted Cardstock from Unity - with the Cardstock edge dies (Unity) to add the rounded shape along the framed image.  Lime green bakers twine and a round button was added in place of the sentiment strip to embellish.  The finished panel was added to a 5 1/4 x 4 1/4 kraft card base. Chal...

Springtime Magic Enclosed

Hello!  Today’s card is inspired from Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Blog Challenge. To Play along, click the link  (HERE ) For my card, I used the stencil and dies from Simon Says Stamp called Artful Palette.  The stencil was used as a template for the peach honeycomb patterned paper from Cute as can Bee DSP-(SU).  The bunny. flowers and sentiment were stamped and colored. Then die cut, and arranged along the tiles.  (Spellbinders - Springtime Smiles set) Butterflies and iridescent gems were added for extra dimension and interest.  Thanks for stopping by! - Valerie Kaye

Caffeinated Kitty

Hello!  I feel like this cat today!  It’s Monday, and I’m not moving very fast!   This card will be for a person who is an avid coffee aficionado.   This card is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes! To play along, click the link  (HERE) I used Unity’s Pissy Kitty Stamp  (SHOP HERE) and patterned paper  (SHOP HERE) I only had one 3 x 3 square of this coffee bean paper and used this layout to maximize what I had.   This was the card layout that I used to make this card: For the kitty, I stamped on a pecan colored piece of cardstock, and colored with prisma color pencils. To cut him out, I laid the clean stamp over and traced the outline of the stamp with a pencil.  This trick works great!  The word Coffee was white heat embossed on a Gumball Green (SU) scrap. The inside message reads “Because I can’t wear prison orange” 🤣 Have a great week! -  Valerie Kaye

Let’s Toast!

Hi there!  Today’s card is made for the Wednesday’s challenge at Simon  Says Stamp Blog.   To play along, click the link  (HERE) The theme this week is to make an interactive card.   This was my first attempt at making this style of slider card, which went pretty well.  I found this video extremely helpful.  The video below shows the parts and assembly process.  Step by step.  (Watch Here) This is an A2 sized card, made of Coastal Cabana cardstock.  The stamp set is Lawn Fawn’s - Let ‘s toast stamp plus slider addition. The pieces were stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink.  The “butter” was stamped in Daffodil Delight ink (SU), and shaded with a prismacolor pencil.  The toaster was stamped on matching a Coastal Cabana scrap, and embossed with (SU) metal plate embossing folder. Once the slider mechanism was assembled, the toast was threaded through the top slot and popped up with mini foam squares.  The sentiment, “You...

Simon Says Wednesday Chalkenge

Hello! Today’s card is inspired inspired from the Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.  “Anything But a Card” To play along, click the link  (HERE) My February Kit from Simon Says Stamps arrived this week so I had some great papers from Tim Holtz to work with.  I was in love with the vintage prints, and decided to make a bookmark with the ledger print paper from the set. I cut the paper measuring 2 x 6 inches.  I wanted to pick up some of the red ink from the paper, do I stamped the sentiment from Simon’s Says Stamp - “Be Your Beautiful Self” set in Real Red Ink (SU).   The sentiment was cut from the coordinating dies from SSS - Artful Palette.   I had a red heart from a previous project that was left over and used it as a focal point to attach the sentiment to.   The edges of the bookmark were distressed in Baja Breeze ink (SU).  Small spatters were stamped in shades of Crumbcake, and Smoky Slate ink (SU).   The book mark was finis...

Birthday for a Beautiful Friend

Hello! Today’s card is for 2 challenges:  Double D’s challenge is to use the inspiration board for ideas.  I reached for an older Stampin Up set called “Friends are Like Seashells” to create this “Birthday”card. Happy Birthday Diane and Darlene 🥳🎂  Please follow the link  (HERE) Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is to Emboss - to play along, please follow the link  (HERE) Card Assembly: This card measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches.  The card base might be Misty Moonlight from -SU.   I began with a panel of multi media paper and embossed with the Bark Embossing folder from Stampin Up. When you turn the pattern sideways, it reminded me of ocean waves.   I Used a sheet of DSP from SU- Called Sand and Sea.   I wanted a particular section of the paper design, so in order to save waste, I cut a clear scrap of laminated sheet measuring 1 1 3/4 x 5 1/4.  This way, I can see exactly the pattern where I want to cut.  Just trace with a p...

St. Nick Tag

Hello!  Today I was working on some package tags for gift bags, and I decided to try out the St. Nick Bundle from Concord and 9th.  Shop here:  Die/Stencil Set ,  Sentiment Stamp This is such a great size, that I can easily make either a gift tag or a card with a nice, large focal point. I just love this jolly guy!  He certainly brightens up any gift or card you’re giving.   To make this tag: I first cut a sturdy piece of 120# cardstock.   I coated the surface with anti-static powder, then heavily pressed the Versamark Ink through the stencils.   I heat set with Recollections Red embossing powder, and Ranger Snowflake Tinsel.  I used a marker to color in the ears, face and nose, and the eyes were accented with black half round beads.   The sentiment “Ho, Ho, Ho” was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink, and added off center of the beard.   The tag was attached with a standard size hole punch.   I was able to easily feed one...
