Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge #663

 Good Morning!

Today's card is part of Try a Sketch on Tuesday's bi-weekly sketch.  To join in on the fun, please click the link here:  TSOT-#663

I began making this card using Penny Black's So Much Love Stamp Set.  I used two pieces of pre cut coordinating card stock that had a water color/ alcohol ink design in shades of pink and purples.

The first panel with a more white space was used as the background and the second piece was used to cut 4- 1/2 x 4 inch strips in the same coordinating colors.  I rotated some of the colors around in a different order and orientation to give a varied appearance.

Next I stamped the image onto the remaining piece of coordinating cardstock.  This particular piece of paper had a slick surface to it, when I stamped in Versa Fine ink, I heat embossed with clear powder to set the ink and prevent any smearing.

The heart balloons were fussy cut and set aside.

Next, I adhered the strips into position, then took a circle die to cut into the panel to create a window.  I cut a piece of masking paper down to 4 x 5 1/4 to match the card base size, and traced the open window.

The Balloons were tacked into a temporary position using a tiny amount of adhesive.  The mask with the window was applied over.  I then used the packaging with the outline of the stamp to position my stamp into place.

I stamped the dog through the window on a piece of plain white cardstock.  Then colored with Prisma Color pencils.

The window panel was popped up with foam, and placed over the image of the dog.  A border of red foil finishes off the card.

  1. Valerie, what a great interpretation of our Try A Sketch On Tuesday challenge! I love how you added depth to your card by having the bunny inside the circle cut-out, and the heart balloons on the top layer... it gives they a real feeling of flying away!! Thank you so much for sharing your card and creativity with us at TSOT!!! -Donna
