Monochromatic Unity Card - Tawny Owl Paperie Challenge #29

Hello Friends!

I'm in the full swing of making Valentine's Day cards.  Although I typically shy away from heart designs, I have been really enjoying finding all the cute images in my stash that can be used a variety of ways.

I'm focusing this month on two ideas or challenges for the month of February.  First, I will be focusing on this card layout design from Tawny Owl Paperie.  I sometimes start a lot of creative thinking after the first card I make, so I want to continue to pull stamps and papers and really try to maximize card making.

The second theme I'll be working on is monochromatic color palettes.  Today’s palette is different shades of pinks and reds.

Today's card incorporates both a monochromatic color scheme and this great card sketch provide from Tawny Owl Paperie.

The original card design from Tawny Owl Paperie had the sentiment directly under the image.  My image was not linear, so I chose to add a slim strip of red foil cardstock under the giraffe instead.

Monochromatic is a challenge, but I am learning to look at all the shades in one color family to work with.  For this card, I wanted to use this little giraffe from "Loved All Over."  I stamped in Berry Sorbet ink onto a medium pink cardstock.  I then found a piece of pre-cut patterned paper that was red with pink bows.  A perfect background for this image! The lightest shade of pink cardstock was used to die cut a circle and add the sentiment to the card.  A small bow on the giraffe was used to accent the bows in the background and tie everything together.  A few gemstones were used to embellish the dots on the giraffe's neck.
