Follow Your Own Star- Atlantic Hearts Sketch - #613

Today's card was inspired by a sketch challenge from Atlantic Hearts.  To join in on the fun, click the link here!  (Sketch Challenge #613)  

I love stars, but I do not have a lot of them in my collection of dies and stamps.  I found a couple of my very first cutting dies that entered my collection about 11 years ago.  

For the first card, I began by die cutting a rectangular panel and off setting the star die cut to the right hand corner.  I added a silver matte behind to show the negative space of the stars cut away.  

Next, I added the sentiment, "Follow your own star!" -- in Misti Moonlight ink.  A small die cut star was added around the negative space of the center star in hollographic cardstock.  

The small stars that were cut away from the die were used as a few embellishments above the sentiment.  

Since my sentiment was rather large, I added the stripe underneath the sentiment rather than in the middle.  In this design, it would have covered my center star-- so I moved it down a bit toward the bottom of the card.

Accent- 120# white cardstock

Recollections- (Michaels)- Silver Foil Cardstock, Hollographic cardstock

Die- (Possibly Taylored Expressions, but I am not sure)

Ink- Stampin Up - Midnight Muse

Sentiment- Stampin Up - Stepping Stones

Enamel Dots- Stampin Up 2023-2025 In Color Dots

Card (2) 

For this card I began using a piece of Starry Sky cardstock and cut it down to measure 4 x 5 1/4 inches.  Next, I used a star stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, and blended Starry Sky Ink with a blending sponge for a tone on tone effect.  Holographic stars were cut from a die, and added over the Daffodil Delight scrap stripe down the center.  

The sentiment was heat embossed in Silver.  For added detail, gold and white acrylic paint was spattered to give a starry appearance.  A few dimensional enamel dots were added as well to finish off the card.
