Weekly Card Making Challenge #41

Good morning,

This week’s theme at Facebook’s Weekly Cardmaking Challenge is Nutcracker.  

This set from Avery Elle is called Nutcrackers and has three different soldiers, and fun elements to add to your card.  

I used the same sketch from AAA Card challenge #300.  This is a great way of making an impactful focal point, using scraps! 

I began with a side folding card base (Accent white 120# cardstock) and added a small strip of DSP.  The other side was a rainbow stripe, but I really liked the contrast of the darker green color against the soldier.  

I stamped and die cut the nutcracker and colored with markers.  Next, I stamped the sentiment using a stamping platform under the green strip.  

The nuts and sword were stamped, colored and added to the card.  The nut cracker was embellished with gold dimensional accents used for buttons and the shoulder trim.  The holly was added to the hat and three red rhinestones (SU) were added as the berries.
