"We're Toast" - Unity Stamps
Greetings!
The week is winding down, and I finished up the last two cards before the weekend approaches. I have had this hillarious Unity toast stamp, but was trying to figure out how to design a card.
Thanks to my Dad's 75th birthday approaching soon, I grabbed this stamp and made both a thank you and a birthday card!
The first card pictured is a fun thank you card.
I began by stamping a mask, and stamping an image on white cardstock. The image was colored, and fussy cut. I added a small dot of tape runner to the back of the masked toaster so I could place the image temporarily while I stenciled in the colored dots. I then popped up the toaster with foam, and added die cut steam from a Spellbinders die set. The word bubbles were swapped out for "thank you" and the inside reads "I can count on you when I'm in a tight spot."
Second up, is the birthday card. This card is designed for the male in mind so the color palette is more of a monochromatic scheme with a pop of red here and there. I wanted the toaster to look like the chrome vintage styles of many years ago. To replicate a similar look, I embossed with Versafine black ink and clear embossing powder onto silver foil cardstock. A separate image was stamped on white cardstock. The two pieces were pieced together, lining up the two toast images. The word bubbles were fussy cut and popped up onto circle die cuts. An additional "Happy Birthday" sentiment was added as well. A small red foil heart was punched and added to the toaster.
