Party Squad! - Double D 9th Birthday Challenge

 Greetings!

It's January!  I can hardly believe it.  Christmas came and went so fast, I hardly know what happened.  Usually after Christmas I begin the cleaning/organizing and preparing for the coming year.  I try to make the goals of what I'd like to accomplish for the year.

One of my goals this year, is to try to make a card a day.  If my time is short, I'll concentrate on pulling out a card that was previously started or a Clean and Simple design.

My second goal is to keep up on family birthdays.  To keep this goal, I printed out a great Birthday Calendar from the Lettering Tree's Blog. (Grab your printable here: Birthday Calendar)  I love how this is organized by month, and wrote each family members name and date in chronological order.  I can very quickly look at this planner, and see who has an upcoming birthday for the month.

To get going on my cards, I created this fun birthday shaker card.  This card is part of Double D's 9th Anniversary/Birthday Card making challenge.

The inspiration behind this card design came from Double D's blogspot January mood board.  Join in on the fun here: Double D's Challenge

I instantly thought of this great stamp designed by Julian Charlton - Lottie's Gang from Purple Onion Designs ( you can find this stamp set here: Lottie's Gang ).

Everything about these little characters is so fun and festive.  I incorporated the balloon from the stamp, and the stars and sprinkles reminded me of confetti.  So, I added some silver star sequins and chunky glitter into the shaker panel.  The pink and gold from the Anniversary panel, was used in the "Celebrate sentiment" on my card and the two little pigs.  I took gold holographic cardstock, and partially die-cut only the word "Celebrate" and adhered to my frame.

Here's to you, Dar and Diane!  Happy 9th Birthday!!  Woo-hoo!

  1. What a super fun and CUTE image, a fabulously fun card. Thought I'd mention that when I came here it gave me a warning of it might contain sensitive material and I had to click okay before I went on, there is a place and blogger that you need to uncheck to turn that off if you wish!
