Lily Birthday Card - Freshly Made Sketches #668
Good Morning!
Today's card was inspired by the new card sketch challenge at the Freshly Made Sketches blog.
I knew today I wanted to work with some type of flower and chose Altenew's Queen of the Lilies stamp and die set. I think I have avoided this set because it is a layering stamp, but I thought I would tackle it. Altenew has a very nicely made template on how to stamp each layer in order. It was extremely helpful! The stamp set actually is numbered, to make the process a little easier. I wanted to replicate a Stargazer Lily that has more of the vivid pinks in the flower, so I chose a light, medium and dark shade of pink.
Next, I used a stamp positioner to line all the layers up. This set does include layering stamps for the leaves, but I decided to work with some left over leaves from my die box.
To assemble this card I used a piece of Night of Navy card stock and Embossed with Altenew's Beautiful Baroque 3-D folder. I used a nesting hexagon, and cut a frame from gold foiled cardstock in place of the circular shape. Night of Navy satin ribbon and a left over piece of trim was added to the left border. A Happy Birthday sentiment from Stampin Up's Go to Greetings was stamped, fussy cut and popped up onto the flower.
