Dashing Deer - TCC #213 Winter Solace

 Greetings!

Today's card is part of The Card Concept's monthly challenge for January.  You can find full details here: (TCC#213) Winter Solace

Using the inspirational photo for a color palette, I chose a neutral background with a dark grey border to create a clean and layered card.  I chose Simon Says Stamps' Forest Ring die with pearlescent cardstock to pick up on the circular shape under the console table, and loved how the deer fit perfectly inside.

I really liked the pattern on the table also, so I found a background stamp in my stash from Stampin Up called - Timeless Tiles.  The image was heat embossed in silver and added a subtle sheen on the otherwise masculine feeling card.

I played around with a few sentiments, and ultimately decided on a banner underneath the circle die.  I used the banner from Stampin Up's Toile Christmas.  I also cut a matching banner in foam to pop the banner up.

Lastly, just a few gold enamel dimesional effects were added to the deer to dress him up a bit.  I really wanted to add gold, but felt that the brown was the better option for the challenge and also more of a masculine look to the card.
