Bee Valentine's - Freshly Made Sketches #669

 Hello!

I have two cards for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge today.  I tried a the vertical layout and also a horizontal layout using the sketch design.  

Each month I try to make a few cards to donate to children in hospitals, and this card design helps boost my creativity!  (Big thanks to Freshly Made Sketches) I thought this little bee will brighten someone's day.  He's soooo cute!

Here is the challenge layout:     

I followed the design layout with the only exception my sentiment was too big to put onto a strip.  Instead, I stamped the sentiment onto the larger grouped hearts.  The ink used is called Rich Razzleberry from Stampin Up, and it's the perfect compliment to pinks and red shades.  This ink worked great as an alternative to black, which is my go to sentiment color typically.  

The little bee came from Stampin Up's "Bee Mine" set.  He is the cutest.  I have a thing for bumble bees, so this was a good excuse to pick up the set.  This set includes a wing outline, flowers, a dashed bee trail, and some different expressions for the bee's face.  There are a few different sentiments, and one says "you're sweet as honey," so this set can easily be used for thank you cards as well. 

The bee was stamped in (SU) Daffodil Delight, and the stripes were stamped over in Versa fine - Onyx Black ink.  The wings were cut from left over Christmas Vellum.  I really like the little dots as a detail for the wings. To adhere, I use an Elmer's clear glue stick and it does not show through!  

The background paper came from Michael's and is the brand Craftsmart.  This particular 12 x 12 paper pack is simply labeled as Valentine's day, but the colors range with white, pinks, and red patterns and a few foiled sheets as well. 

The first card is a top folding card measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.  The second card is a horizontal card measuring 5 1/2 inches x 4 1/4 in size.
