Bee Mine - Sketch Saturday #767

 Hello!

This little bee is part of Sketch Saturday's first sketch challenge of 2025!  If you'd like to join in on the fun, click the link here:  (Sketch Saturday #767)

The current challenge looks like a windowpane.  There are 4- smaller panels inside the card base.  Three smaller objects are aligned on the left hand side of the card.   My craft table is messy, but this is what I came up with.

I knew I wanted some sort of Valentine's Day themed card.  This made the challenge a lot harder for me because I only have a few stamps that could classify as love or V-day theme.  I think I'll try this sketch some other time with a gold back ground or embossed squares and 3-little Christmas trees.

I was initially wanting to turn this and make a horizontal design, but could not get the die cuts to fit properly.  So, I chose two coordinating Valentines Day printed papers and cut the base layer to 4 x 5inches.  I then cut 4-postage style frames out of red foil and die cut 4-small panels from Gina K. Master Layouts 9.  The rectangles were the perfect fit for the postage stamp die.

The hardest part was figuring out the arrangement.  It took a little playing with two different sized bee stamps and a few die cut flowers, which is how the creative process works sometimes.  Until I actually cut it and lay it on a card base, I'm not sure which idea will sometimes work better.  (I definitely have enough left-overs to make a second card though...lol)

The bee was stamped and cut.  The wings were cut from a small piece of vellum.  This was actually a Christmas themed vellum with velvety snow dots, but I liked the polka dot detail with the little bee.  The stamp set does include a solid heart shaped wing and a black out-line if you want to change the look.  This little bee also has a few different expressions and antennae.

For the three linear images, I placed a honeycomb die cut on the top, the bee in the center, and a second honeycomb under the bee.  The color of the honeycomb cardstock is Rich Razzleberry and it was a close color in the base layer heart pattern.  A few additional hearts were layered over the honeycomb, and the sentiment was added in Rich Razzleberry ink.
